Technology is constantly evolving. From time to time, we perform hardware and software upgrades to provide new or improved services.

Average: 6-8 hrs.

Software Maintenance

Sometimes, we find a bug in the software that could cause a service outage. When we identify these bugs, we proactively perform maintenance to minimize service disruptions.

DETAILS: System maintenance on the morning of 7/15/25 involves moving subscribers to a cloud-based platform for managed Wi-Fi services. If you use the GLE app to manage your Truestream connected devices, please unpause those devices before the maintenance window. A new app, TruestreamIQ, replaces the functionalities previously found in the GLE app. Learn more about the app, including setting it up, in our FAQ section. WHO: Petoskey Area Truestreamers

DATE: 8/5/25

TOTAL OUTAGES: 480+

OUTAGE: Started at roughly 3:30 PM on 8/5/25

ESTIMATED RESTORATION: 8/6/25

DETAILS: There is a fiber cut in the Petoskey area, near Ellsworth Rd. Assessments are underway, and at this time, the damage to the 288-count mainline fiber appears to be extensive and affecting several spans. We anticipate the outage will last into the morning of 7/6/25. We appreciate your patience as our splicing crew works overnight to repair the damage.

Fiber Line Repair

Average Splicing Times

When a fiber line is broken, a lot goes into the delicate process of matching and splicing the glass fiber lines back together. Factors such as weather conditions, location of the break, and availability of the necessary materials to the restoration site all play a role. 

Mainline 432 count – 10-16 hrs.

Mainline 288 count – 8-10 hrs.

Mainline 144 count – 6-8 hrs.

Distribution 96 count – 4-6 hrs.
