Mesh vs. extender: think teamwork
A Wi-Fi extender is exactly what it sounds like. It takes an existing Wi-Fi signal and tries to stretch it farther.
A mesh system, on the other hand, uses multiple devices that work together as a team to create one Wi-Fi network throughout your home.
Think of an extender as someone shouting a message from one room to another, while a mesh system is more like several people standing throughout the house, passing the message along clearly and efficiently.
Both are designed to improve coverage, but in different ways.

Detached buildings are often separated by distance, exterior walls, metal construction, and other obstacles that can prevent mesh units from communicating effectively. Even if a mesh unit appears to connect, performance may be unreliable and is not something we can guarantee.
