In 2007, Odawa Casino opened in Petoskey, Michigan. Owned and operated by the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, they pride themselves on providing top-notch service with local flair.
The casino spans nearly 300,000 square feet and includes a 50,000 square feet gaming floor, bars and restaurants, and office space. Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians also own and operate Odawa Hotel and Victories Sports and Entertainment.
Among Odawa Casino’s employees and guests, there are approximately 100 internet users at any given time and used by office staff, guest services, cashier counters, bars and restaurants, and guests. The slot machines also require being connected to the network to work. However, when a business relies on the internet and their internet provider only offers limited bandwidth, as the Odawa Casino staff experienced, providing top-notch service can become challenging.
Casino employees learned about Truestream from an on-site Great Lakes Energy worker and decided to switch internet providers.
“The process to switch to Truestream was simple and on time. We didn’t have any difficulties,” said Roger Waterson, Odawa’s network support technician. It was “definitely a good business call for us, but the deciding factor in switching to Truestream was the cost, especially when it includes an upload and download speed of 1 Gig.”
Odawa Casino no longer worries about limited bandwidth and can focus on providing their guests service they can take pride in.
“We love TS because it’s reliable. It has been online since we installed it. I don’t think we have had one outage.”
